Wei Deng

Director, Associate Director of the Institute of Housing and Community Studies, News Center, Tsinghua University

Deng Wei is the Associate Director of the Institute of Housing and Community Studies at the School of Architecture in Tsinghua University, Beijing. There, he teaches courses in urban economics, residential district planning and housing design. He has many years of experience conducting economic evaluations for such cities as Suzhou, Wuxi, and Guilin. Furthermore, he has played a chief role in the new tourism plan for Yichang City, and he has conducted economic feasibility studies for many major infrastructure projects in China. Prof. Deng has published books and many articles on China’s urban development and currently he is a visiting scholar at Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies.
