Christine Dunn is founder and president of Savoir
Media Co., a consulting firm based in Belmont, Massachusetts, that
provides communications, media training and editorial strategy
services for businesses.
Prior to starting her company, Ms. Dunn worked at Bloomberg News for
more than a decade. She began in the company's Princeton office,
where she spent six years as a reporter, editor and then leader of
the North America Consumer/Retail Team.
In June 2002, Ms. Dunn was named Bureau Chief of Boston, Bloomberg's
second largest market in North America after New York. During her
tenure, Bloomberg's staff increased to 22 from seven with the
addition of a broadcast desk for Bloomberg Radio and Television, and
the expansion of the Investment team. The bureau produced a radio
talk-show called "Simply Put" that was on the air six days a week,
hired a full-time television producer, and hosted a monthly
roundtable series of executives and academics in New England.
During her first two years in Boston, Ms. Dunn helped build
Bloomberg's North America mutual funds coverage, first as a separate
team and then as part of a group covering the global investing
industry, which also includes hedge funds, private equity and real
estate. In March 2005, she was asked to spearhead Bloomberg's
coverage of education in North America.
Before joining Bloomberg in October 1995, Ms. Dunn spent two years
working and studying in Tokyo and completed a master's degree in
Asian studies and international business from the Fletcher School of
Law and Diplomacy. She received her undergraduate degree at Tufts
University, and also earned certificates for Japanese language study
at Keio University and the International Conversation Academy in
Tokyo.
In addition to her consulting work for companies, ranging from
Fortune 500 firms to entrepreneurial start-ups, Ms. Dunn works with
the Center for Women and Enterprise in Boston, counseling women
entrepreneurs on marketing strategies for their new businesses.
Ms. Dunn is a regular contributor to Compliance Week’s online and
print publications, focusing on internal controls and auditing
issues. She also writes for the new Walt Disney Co. Web site,
www.family.com, on parenting and family financial issues. Ms. Dunn’s
articles also have appeared in Computerworld and Parents and Kids
magazines. |
